Meme is an open-source imageboard archiving service that I wrote in Java. I figured you guys could use such a service now that 4scrape has died. I released it on /wg/, and they seemed to like it, so I’ll try my luck over here next. Now at version 5.5, it’s come a long way since I asked a friend how a webcrawler worked so I could save images on imageboards…Current Features include:-Archiving the text and images of certain imageboards. Known supported imageboards are currently:–All 4chan imageboards (not /rs/, /f/, or text-only boards)–Touhou Imageboard pooshlmer: http://pooshlmer.com/wakaba/wakaba.html–Magic Archive Voile: http://voile.gensokyo.org/If you are curious if a board is supported or not, ask here or email me and I will test it and if it is broken, I will do my best to make it supported.-Making the archived content searchable by several fields, including:–Thread Content–Post Content–Poster Name–Poster Tripcode–Thread Subject–Thread Number–Post Number–Image Filename

Field too long, continuing post:-GUI for browsing the archived content and controlling the operations of the archiver.-Importing of other imageboard archives into the meme filesystem. This is built to work with archives created by using the "Save Page As" feature in firefox, becuase that was the archive that I was asked to import. If you have another archive style that you would like to import, ask here or email me about it and I’ll do my best to support it.-An export system for sharing files between meme archives has also been implemented. The system uses the same general form as the firefox "Save Page As" option, so it can be viewed in web browsers as well.Features in the works include:-Thread and post hiding-Browsing the meme archive as a board without searching-Distributed archiving system to connect different meme archives and download things you missed.Read the readme for more on how to use meme. Download the latest version here, a sample config file with required settings for /w/ is included, and is the only difference between this version of the program, and the one released on /wg/:http://www.mediafire.com/?gvqg4nmvxmeThe email that I’m using to collect comments for this project is meme.comments@gmail.com, so if you have bug reports, questions, etc… send them there.

See this blog post by the creator of 4scrape…http://blog.desudesudesu.org/?p=1525
oh wow bummer
bumpage
http://www.4walled.org <– I’d say that is a good solution too.
This works and quite well actually. Very good work op
Will it work on a Mac OS X Leopard? I have it retrieving text.. But no such luck on the images.
All I get is a bunch of black boxes.
how ’bout you write it in a language that sucks less than Java? Maybe bash?Such as this one I wrote for /h/. http://pastebin.com/f571d9181
I have a lot of experience in that, OP, but I’ve never seen anything like this before.> Save the English language on the Internet: http://www.anontaremovethislk.com/ICARE
>Will it work on a Machahahahaha,oh wow
I noticed the same problem when I tired it under linux. It’s probably an issue with how I’m defining the pathnames. However, I can confirm that the images are being downloaded, Meme just can’t find them in unix filesystems. I’ll work on fixing this.
Not all the images are finished downloading. There should be a message in the output bars at the bottom saying that there are still files left to go.
I don’t see in your bash script where it optimizes for disk space usage by cutting useless parts our of the page, or how it makes the archive searchable. Your script has no GUI for browsing the images, and only works on /h/. If a wget script is all you’re looking for, then by all means, use it. But if you’re looking for something a bit more complex, this is a viable option.

Meme 5.6 Released
Added several bits of missing unix support, including:I figured out the bug that was causing unix systems not to show the images. It was a pathname problem, and is fixed now. Let me know if you still have problems with this, becuase I only have Ubuntu as a nonwindows system to test on.Also, included a shell script to excute the program properly in unix systems. For some reason, when I double-clicked on the jar, it looked in my home directory for the config file and couldn’t find it. This shell script fixes this problem.Note that if you use a unix system, you will have to edit the sample config file, beause the default directory "C:Meme" is not a valid unix pathname.Get the newest release with a sample config file for /w/ here:http://www.mediafire.com/?mm23lhfzmzw
